Cross-Border Challenges: From Behind The Screen To The Front
Even though it was a wonderful career journey at Baidu, I left after a year for a new challenge. I came to a TV station in Shanghai to work as a location host of fashion programs and financial programs.
I moved from behind the scenes to the front without any consideration of interests and prospects, purely because I like to talk and enjoy standing on stage and being noticed. I learned a lot of professional skills in Baidu, and my experience as a host has greatly enhanced my expression skills.
The Journey of Entrepreneurship
I started my new challenge as a host, starting-up my own business. I opened a self-branded women’s jewellery store in Shanghai. I set the direction of the company through products, prices, channels, and promotions. There are a lot of marketing models that require a huge investment to run a lot of advertising, but their publicity effects are not very effective and cannot be accurately conveyed to some big clients.
As the days went on, a lot of goods were hoarded. Coupled with the impact of the COVID-19 epidemic and the failure of marketing management, I finally ended the business. I decided to go on a trip to get myself out of my dreary mood, and while I was on the road, I kept thinking about why I had failed in my previous business. What is the reason? Is it because of my ability or my insight? Is my knowledge not enough to support me? And then, I had an idea to continue my advanced studies. So, I came to Malaysia and started my graduate programme in financial management.

Start-Up Self-Media Entrepreneurship
During the period of the pandemic, and also my study period in Malaysia, I do market research in addition to studying and try to let myself quit from the haze of my first failed venture. I accidentally came into contact with the field of self-media, so I started to study the KOL business, and I made some achievements through self-learning. This process is certainly not simple because I just came to a strange country without any resources. I struggled for a long time. Is the photo nice enough? Why is the video viewer so little? How to negotiate with the sponsor? Why do the followers grow slowly? And so on.
I am still moving forward, although I’m not popular and don’t have the expert skills. I overcame all the difficulties and now have some achievements. After referring to KOL and bloggers in the form of their work, in order to take my career to the next level, I started to develop laterally on the basics of self-media, take myself as a case study and move step by step towards digital marketing.
As a self-media entrepreneur, I definitely know this is the era of digital marketing.Use digital interactive media to achieve marketing objectives; communicate with customers in a timely, relevant, customized, and cost-effective manner; and enter new markets and consumer segments in the most effective and cost-effective manner.
All of the above are my real insights since I came into self-media and digital marketing. This journey can be said to be a turning point in my life. It has broadened my goals, vision and network. Most importantly, it has given me the idea of starting a new business.

After a year and a half preparation period, even though I knew it was risky to start a business in this period, the COVID-19 epidemic and the global economic crisis period, but after a long struggle, I thought about everything I could think of and finally set up the company, Linpard Ads!
As a self-media entrepreneur, I definitely know this is the era of digital marketing.Use digital interactive media to achieve marketing objectives; communicate with customers in a timely, relevant, customized, and cost-effective manner; and enter new markets and consumer segments in the most effective and cost-effective manner.
